The Shinyanga Regional Cooperative Association SHIRECU (1984 LTD) was formed for the following purposes in accordance with the Articles of Association as follows:-
1) To develop the economic status of its members by making plans to develop agricultural activities of Pamba and other crops, carried out by the Societies that joined voluntarily and in accordance with the principles and procedures of Cooperative Societies.
2) In order to carry out the above-mentioned objectives, the Association shall do the following:-
a. To promote the activities of the Cooperative for its members and encourage the Primary Societies in its area of operations to join the association.
b. Provide Cooperative Education and better agriculture to its Members, Leaders and Party Executives.
c. Collaborate with its members to collect, store, and find markets for cotton and other crops with the aim of providing them with good prices for the benefit of its members.
d. To purchase and or lease land, buildings, vehicles, machinery, warehouses, offices, and various equipment for its use and that of its members.
e. To buy, sell and distribute agricultural inputs to its members at affordable prices to improve cotton farming and other agricultural crops.
f. To provide loans and financial assistance to its members in accordance with these provisions, the Cooperative Societies Act No. 6 of 2013 and its Regulations of 2015 as well as amendments and legal guidelines issued by the Registrar of Cooperative Societies in the country.
g. Investing in other limited liability Cooperative Societies, commercial institutions for the purpose of generating profits for the Association in accordance with the Cooperative Societies Act No. 6 of 2013 and its Regulations of 2015.
h. Provide advice, guidance and supervision to member associations in preparing Revenue and Expenditure Estimates.
i. To do other lawful and necessary things in furtherance of the above-mentioned tasks in achieving the implementation of the objectives of the Association as approved by the General Assembly and as the Cooperative Societies Act No. 6 of 2013 and its Regulations of 2015 direct.
j. Adding value to members' produce before seeking markets for it.
